Caring For Carers

Care in the community means caring for our carers too.

Care at Home’s carers our supported by:

• Induction with our in house training officer.
• Specialist training provided. Support with NVQ2 and 3.
• Full instruction for each job.
• Office support at all times.
• The interests of our Clients, Carers, and the Community we live in are what matters to us.

Qualifications

All our carers have their NVQ 2, a selection of our carers that have their NVQ 3.

All our carers do the following mandatory courses:

• Adult Abuse Awareness
• Emergency First Aid
• Infection Control Awareness
• Health and Safety for Carers
• Food Hygiene
• Moving and Handling
• The Safe Handling of Medicines

(All training is done at our office by trainers from First Response).

Additional courses that Care at Home provide are:

• MS Awareness
• Dementia Awareness
• Caring for the person affected by a Stroke
• Depression in Older People
• Introduction to Mental Health
• Sensory Impairment Services
• Mobility aids Awareness
• Managing changes in the person with Dementia
