Caring For Carers
Care in the community means caring for our carers too.
Care at Home’s carers our supported by:
- Induction with our in house training officer.
- Specialist training provided. Support with NVQ2 and 3.
- Full instruction for each job.
- Office support at all times.
- The interests of our Clients, Carers, and the Community we live in are what matters to us.
Qualifications
All our carers have their NVQ 2, a selection
of our carers that have their NVQ 3.
All our carers do the
following mandatory courses:
- Adult Abuse Awareness
- Emergency First Aid
- Infection Control Awareness
- Health and Safety for Carers
- Food Hygiene
- Moving and Handling
- The Safe Handling of Medicines
(All training is done at our office by
trainers from
First Response).
Additional courses that Care at Home provide are:
- MS Awareness
- Dementia Awareness
- Caring for the person affected by a Stroke
- Depression in Older People
- Introduction to Mental Health
- Sensory Impairment Services
- Mobility aids Awareness
- Managing changes in the person with Dementia
